چکیده

The population dynamics of fruit fly Bactrocera zonata Saunders (Diptera: Tephritidae) was carried out by installing "Nauroji-Stonehouse Fruit Fly Trap" in the mango orchard organic farm, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat, India during period 2021-22. B. prevailed throughout year with its peak activity from 14th SMW to 31st which coincided fruiting and harvesting fruits. maximum 27th minimum second SMW. decreased August January. There a significant positive correlation temperature (r=0.33), (r=0.83), average (r=0.77), evening relative humidity (r=0.50), (r=0.41), rainy days (r=0.38), rainfall (r=0.37) wind velocity (0.66). However, there nonsignificant morning duration bright sunshine hours.

Insecticides resistance against fourteen field populations of Bactrocera zonata (Saunders) (Diptera: Tephritidae) from Chichawatni, District Sahiwal, Pakistan to six insecticides viz., trichlorfon, malathion (Organophosphates), bifenthrin, lambda-cyhalothrin (Pyrethorids) , methomyl (Carbamate) and spinosad (Microbial) was assessed by topical assay under laboratory conditions. In insecticides b...

Potential of the entomopathogenic nematode, Heterorhabditis marelatus, isolate in controlling the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders) (Diptera: Tiphritidae)

The peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders) (Diptera: Tiphritidae), is an economic insect pest attacking the fruits of mangoes, apricots, guava, citrus, and peaches. This pest is difficult to be controlled by the traditional chemicals due to the behavior of its larvae that hide inside the fruits or its pupae that pupate in the soil. The present study documented the molecular identificatio...

Allozyme Analysis for Assessing Genetic Variation in the Species Bactrocera Diversa and B. Zonata (diptera: Tephritidae)

Allozyme analysis was used to assess genetic variability in tephritid fruit fly Bactrocera diversa and B. zonata. In our experimental conditions, allozyme analysis at twelve enzyme loci scores twenty one putative alleles. The amount of mean observed heterozygosity (HO) was 0.22 and 0.28 and amount of mean expected heterozygosity (HE) was 0.28 and 0.37, in B. diversa and B. zonata, respectively....

The effect of blow flies (Diptera: Calliphoridae) on the size and weight of mangos (Mangifera indica L.)

BACKGROUND Pollination has a great effect on the yield of fruit trees. Blow flies are considered as an effective pollinator compared to hand pollination in fruit orchards. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the effect of different pollination methods in mango orchards. METHODOLOGY The impact of pollination on quantity and quality of mango yield by blow flies was estimated by using...

Scirtothrips Species (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) Described from Mangifera indica (Anacardiaceae) in Mexico

A series of 15 species described from specimens collected from the leaves of mango trees at a single site in Mexico are newly placed as synonyms of the California citrus thrips, Scirtothrips citri (Moulton) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae). These species were originally discriminated based on differences in the precise placement of setae in the median area of the pronotum, and this chaetotaxy is here ...
